About the Community

We are the Penitent Brothers who make up the Padua Regional Community.  We are comprised of three professed Brothers and four Postulants.  We gather monthly at the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in the City of Schenectady, New York which was founded by Italian immigrants in the Diocese of Albany, New York.  Our first gathering takes place on the First Friday of each month where we facilitate the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  During the three hour devotional, we offer varied prayers, litanies, song and the Rosary of the Dolors.

We gather a second time on the First Saturday of each month where the Brothers facilitate a Communion Service for the cluster parishes.  During the season of Lent, the Brothers of the Padua Regional Community will offer a Taizé Prayer Service on Tuesday evenings and lead the Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings.  Following the Lenten Season, the Brothers will offer varied devotionals and Para-Liturgical services for the People of God.
